Some have said that music not only entertains people but also influences their thinking and behavior.

To what extent do you think music has the power to influence as well as to entertain people? Support your views with reasons or examples from your reading, observations, or experience.

Music is basically consisted of two parts; one is the melody while the other one is the lyrics. Since nobody can live without the music, why it can always attract people’s attention, along with can settle so much influential motivation upon us becomes the important question within our lives. By dividing the melody and the lyrics into two sections to discuss with, the following two paragraphs use different points of views toward answering questions above. Hope they can rather clear up its mysterious.

In our daily life music is just like an air living in our life so commonly. Wherever we go, even we go to the foreign country there are still some rhythm with different languages. Virtually, we, the people cannot live without music. But why do we always need some melodies around our surroundings? If there is no ring music in our cell phone, how can we know that we have a call? From this simple example, we can see that we never thought of the value of music because it lives in our life so naturally, and even so comfortably. However, people are a sensitive animal we need different kinds of music to relieve our changeable mind.

　　大學學測成績單今天寄發，今年英文作文有兩萬多名考生掛零，國文非選擇題也沒人滿分，看來高中生語文能力還要再加強，不過北一女建中還是有學生考了滿級分。

猜一猜九八年指考的作文題目吧

雖然書還沒印出來，但在書裡的第七章我的範文題目就是"Earthquake"，也跟這次學測的寫作題目相符合。

雖然我不是命理大師更不是先知，但是我還是猜猜幾個題目(其實是新書裡的範文題目)，希望同學藉由以下的題目，多多地練習，期盼能在指考當中的寫作考試拿到高分。

其實寫作的文體(Style)分類很多，所以我就每一種文體挑一個題目，讓同學練習一下吧。

應用Criterion線上寫作系統，使我的英文寫作課更有效

緣起

從事英文教學多年以來，覺得最難教授給學生，而同時也是學生最感頭痛的，大概就是英文寫作了。我與同事們一談起接高三的班級，就會覺得非常痛苦，尤其最痛苦的就是要改作文。除了高三一定有所謂的英文作文課之外，另外還有模擬考。上學期三次模擬考，下學期也是三次，除了要教英文寫作，批改學生作文，再加上六次模擬考的作文。我們常說，我們上輩子應該是做了什麼壞事吧，所以這輩子處罰我們改作文。

相信同學已經選好了自己這學期想要閱讀的英文小說了。

我也要開始閱讀我的英文小說了--- The Memory Keeper's Daughter(不存在的女兒)

接下來，同學每週的閱讀進度都由自己決定。但是每週都要按時繳交作業，而且老師也會就每週繳交作業的內容，選取優秀的作品，  放在部落格中以便大家模仿及學習喔。
